“I’ve known Jonathan Glass for more than 10 years. Until recently, it had been a one-sided relationship in which he tried to

persuade me that the grass was indeed greener. I immediately appreciated Jonathan’s rather laid back approach and the way in which he dealt with things despite the fact that he was always focussed on trying to find an opportunity that “fitted” both sides. Because of the research that he had done before we first met, he had a realistic view of the sort of firm that might work for me, so he didn’t waste my – or his – time in contacting me with an opportunity that clearly wouldn’t work.
In November 2014, the tables were turned and I needed him. We met in his club (no fancy offices for Jonathan) and I explained my situation. He had received instructions that very day from a firm in which he thought I could fit. Two weeks and 3 meetings later, they were ready to offer, and Jonathan did a great job of translating my poorly expressed wish list into what was finally agreed with that firm. It was a pretty painless and wholly positive experience. Although I don’t really want to use Jonathan again (I’m too old), I would if I needed to. And he buys a good lunch.”
